About
Belakoo in Kannada means ‘light’. Belakoo Trust aims to be the light that enables children from underprivileged communities to become self-aware and skilled, helping them realize their individual potential. Our programs have all been designed to incorporate experiential and interactive learning across all classes.
Belakoo Trust runs intervention programs focused on various aspects, ranging from soft skills, public speaking, hygiene, and grooming, to behavior management for students in the underprivileged and the special needs sector. This is not all. Children are trained in foundational subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) to inculcate the spirit of guided inquiry and analytical thinking.
Characterized by bright, interactive teaching aids, learning displays and well-defined learning spaces, Belakoo Trust’s learning centers have a distinct atmosphere that imbue a love for learning in children.

Belakoo Trust aims to educate underprivileged children through carefully curated STEAM programs and other learning initiatives to supplement their learning at government schools. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The trust also focuses on adult education and awareness programs for students with special needs. The impact results in encouraging students to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!
Vision
Belakoo means "light" in Kannada. Belakoo Trust's focus areas include quality education for children and adults from less privileged backgrounds and in rural areas, teacher training, skill development and degree programs.
